QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for individuals to join us in this adventure who:

  • For Full Time Summer staff: 18 or older by June 1st.
  • For High School Interns: 16 or 17 years old
  • For Kitchen Assistants,  16 or older and have reliable transportation.
  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to share it with others.  
  • Enjoy working with children and being in the outdoors.
  • Detest and agree to abstain from gossip at all cost. (We are so serious about this, it’s the first thing on very short list called “Get Fired For These Things”. This one includes everyone. Gossip messes up Christian community and we will not work with people who gossip.)
  • Like to have fun…seriously.
  • Can attend the entirety of staff training. (varies depending on position. We will talk about this during the interview, or when you call or email us to ask)

2024 Summer Staff Dates

  • Staff Training begins on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 (2 weeks of training with Friday Evenings-Sunday at Noon off)
  • 7.5 weeks of camp with Friday Evenings to Sunday at Noon off and a hour off every day
    • (Most staff will be given 1 week off during this time-a great time to schedule family vacations or college visits-ask for details during interview)
    • All staff will be required to work a half day on Saturday June 29th, 2024
  • Ending Date= Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 
  • Working the entire summer is expected; some exceptions are made for school-related activities and important life or family-events. Don’t discount a summer of ministry because you can’t work for one week. All requests for time off must be submitted to the Camp Director at least 3 weeks in advance.

 

POSITIONS WE ARE LOOKING TO FILL

 

RESIDENT POSITIONS (You must live at camp Sunday through Friday)

Camp Counselor (Positions is open for 2024)

Counselors lead campers through the entire camp experience by supervising them, leading certain activities, facilitating daily spiritual development by leading Bible studies, morning watch, and teachable moments, and more! This is not an entry level position.  We are looking for people with either real life or camp experience leading kids and youth. (Sunday School Leader, Baby Sitting/Nannying, VBS, Teaching, Tutoring, Coaching, Day Care, etc are some examples of real life experience working with kids) Salary: $300/week + Room and Board (+$20/week every year you return*)

Program Coordinator (Position is open for 2024)

This position can be an entry level position. No experience required.  You will coordinate the behind the scenes magic for a few groups of campers.  You provide direct support to counselors by ensuring they are stocked with the supplies they need for each activity, sometimes leading activities yourself. Assist with other tasks such as dish washing, setting up for events, and other duties as assigned. You attend a daily program staff meeting to coordinate with the other Program Coordinators and Program Supervisor to keep everything running smooth. Salary: $280/week + Room and Board (+$20/week every year you return*)

Program Supervisor (Position is open for 2024)

This is a supervisory position.  Our Program Supervisor supervises Program Coordinators and is responsible for scheduling, organizing of behind the scenes program details, and assisting with leading staff training. Complete weekly written evaluations of each member of your team. Experience required in either supervising others or Camp Counseling or Programing. Salary: $320/week + Room and Board (+$20/week every year you return*)

Counselor Supervisor (Position is open for 2024)

This is a supervisory position.  Our Counselor Supervisor supervises Counselors and assist in leading staff training, coach counselors in skills like behavior management, homesickness techniques, camper bonding, and more. (Experience in these areas a plus). Complete weekly written evaluations of each member of your team. Experience required in either supervising others or Camp Counseling. Salary: $320/week + Room and Board (+$20/week every year you return as a supervisor*)

Health Director (Position is open for 2024)

This position dispenses all medications, keeps records of all medications and incidents up to date, deals with the majority of first aid and illness issues that may come up during camp. Must have good organizational skills and love details.  All of this happens under the daily supervision of our Visiting RN. This is a great positions for someone pursuing a degree in the medical field. Salary: $320/week + Room and Board (+$20/week every year you return as a supervisor*)

Maintenance Assistant (Position is open for 2024)

This position assists our Maintenance Director, by doing the bulk of the weekly mowing and weed eating and assisting with maintenance projects. When not doing maintenance task,  assist program staff in behind the scenes duties of camp. Salary: $280/week + Room and Board (+$20/week every year you return*).  Position can also be a commuting position- see below

Waterfront Director (Position is open for 2024)

This position supervises all aquatic activities and staff. This is not a dedicated full time position, rather a position that can be added to any other position. The primary duty is ensure safety of the Waterfront.  Provide inservice training to lifeguards.  Keep waterfront clean and organized.  Keep all waterfront equipment and boats in a clean, maintained and ready condition. Must have experience as a lifeguard.  Preferred aquatics management experience.

Lifeguards (Position is open for 2024)

During Waterfront time each day, our entire camp (staff and campers) go to the waterfront all together. At this point, our staff members who are lifeguards go into guard mode, while others get assigned a job somewhere else at the Waterfront. If you are willing to go through our lifeguard certification class and serve as a lifeguard, we will not only pay for you to attain this expensive certification, we will add a $20/week bonus to your pay. 

Worship Service Coordinator (Position is open for 2024)

This position helps our Camp Director to organize our daily Vesper Worship Services, and helps to leads our worship band. This is not a dedicated full time position, rather a position that can be added to any other position.

COMMUTER POSITIONS (These positions usually do not include housing for the summer.)

Cooks (AM and/or PM) (AM and PM Position is open for 2024)

Work to deliver our handmade menu. We DO NOT USE preprocessed frozen food. Supervise Kitchen Assistants. Hourly Rate: $15/hr

Kitchen Assistant (AM and/or PM) (AM and PM Position is open for 2024)

Help the cooks prepare handmade meals.  Wash dishes,  Assist in other kitchen duties. Hourly Rate: $13/hr

Maintenance Assistant  (Position is open for 2024)

This position assists our Maintenance Manager, by doing the bulk of the weekly mowing and weed eating and assisting with maintenance projects. When not doing maintenance task,  assist program staff in behind the scenes duties of camp. Hourly Rate: $11-15/hr (depending on experience)

Visiting RN (Position is open for 2024) Visit camp at least a half hour each day to check in and oversee our Health Director’s work. Review logs, give second opinions, be on call for questions/support. Assist with camper check in on Sunday afternoons Salary: Negotiable
