Staff Position: Camp Director

Years at Aldersgate: 15

Favorite thing about camp: Sitting beside a camper who accepts Christ as their savior for the first time.

I come to camp because: It's my life, and now...it's my family’s life.

In the non-summer months I: Love being a husband, father, and Camp Director. My wife, Marissa, and I live on camp with our daughter Rilee. Marissa is the fulltime youth minister at Scott Memorial UMC in Cadiz Ohio.

Some of my hobbies are: Trying to figure out what makes my daughter and wife laugh and fishing.

Favorite thing about camp: The opportunity to work with amazing people, as well as the opportunity to grow and fellowship with them.

I come to camp because: Because there isn’t a better way to spend my time. Camp allows me to do what I love in a place that I love.

In the non-summer months I: I work here year-round as the Assistant Director. In Australia, I’m completing my Masters in Teaching.

Some of my hobbies are: Travelling, reading, going for road trips that lead nowhere.

From: I moved around a lot but graduated from Stow High school.

Position: Summer Camp Director

Years at Aldersgate: 11 years (5 years on staff)

Favorite thing about camp: Getting to be wild and crazy praising the Lord.

I come to camp because: It is a place that changed my life and I hope that I can be apart of that life- changing moment for others

In the non-summer months I: I currently am going to college but I will be graduating in May and hopefully making camp, God, and music my full-time commitment.

Some of my hobbies are: I love trying new things so I make sure to have lots of hobbies but some of my favorites are photography, writing, and rock climbing.

Staff Position: Half-Naturalist, Half-Maintenance (Half keeping animals happy, Half keeping Rick happy)

Years at Aldersgate: 19. (Before bacon was two bucks a pound!)

Favorite thing about camp: The memories, past and yet to come, all with amazing people.

I come to camp because: It’s a part of me.

In the non-summer months I: Go to the University of Mount Union.

Some of my hobbies are: Sports-baseball, basketball, boxing, dirt biking, chasing my shadow, and being with my friends.

Years at Aldersgate: Honestly can't remember anymore...a lot.

Favorite thing about camp: Its existence...it wouldn't be nearly as awesome if it didn't exist.
I come to camp because: They haven't been able to get rid of me yet.

In the non-summer months I: Start all my stories with "so this one time at camp...". I'm also taking a year off of school before medical school.

Some of my hobbies are: eating Skittles, listening to my iPod, running, going to concerts, respiration.

I come to camp because: At no other location on this planet do I feel more at home, being with kids, learning about God, growing in His love.

In the non-summer months I: Go to school part time, sell phones, and travel.

Favorite Things About Camp: Where To Begin.....The Labyrinth and the Star Party!

I Come To Camp Because: I LOVE the fellowship and the campers and the staff and the games and the food and I wouldn't want to do anything else with my summer but spend it at camp.

In the Non-Summer Months I: Educate myself in high school....and soon college too, only one more year to go! Help run my youth group, take care of things for that and help organize and run events as well as our weekly meetings

Some of my hobbies are: Soccer, All sports, youth group, working, hanging out with friends, trying to make books a hobby again.

I’m from: Grew up in Louisville and when I got married 25yrs ago I moved to Carrollton

Years at Aldersgate: This is my third year

Favorite thing about camp: Sharing of faith and God’s nature with the youth at camp

I come to camp because: I want to assist the staff and campers in maintaining a healthy experience at camp

In the non-summer months I: Throughout the year I am a nurse at a local hospital, where I work full-time. In addition, I am a mother of two boys. My husband and I share our home with two very energetic black Labrador retrievers.

Some of my hobbies are: I love to read! I also enjoy journaling and writing. Spending my childhood camping has contributed to my love of the outdoors and much of my spare time is spent hiking/walking and just being outside.

I come to camp because: Because I feel like I am part of a family

In the non-summer months I: Attend The University of Mount Union...oh, and freeze....

Some of my hobbies are: Eating Gummy Bears and Nacho Cheese

I'm from: Salem, Ohio

Staff Position: Counselor, Primary (grades 1-3)

Years at Aldersgate: Camper for 5 years, Cadet for 3 years, and this is my first year on staff!

Favorite thing about camp: The family. The way we can talk about anything, the way we support each other and care about each other and teach each other. I love being in a place where God is felt, constantly, in everything. I come to camp because: God calls me there. Camp is an essential part of who I am. I learn from camp, from the people there. I feel like God has a purpose for me at camp - to be a light for Jesus.

In the non-summer months I: This fall, I'll go to Cedarville University and major in communications. One of my favorite things to do when I'm not at camp is theater productions. I do a lot of volunteering for church and organizations, and I love to visit friends from camp!

Some of my hobbies are: Reading, writing, painting, photography, cooking, signing (as in American Sign Language), watching movies, occasionally some catfishing, and dancing.

Favorite thing about camp: At first I tried to pick my favorite THING, but then I realized it'd be impossible to choose between the bathrooms and the Summit, so I'm going to go with the fact that there is just so much serious love all around.

I come to camp because: I don't like to shower.

In the non-summer months I: count down the days until summer. While I swim and organize things

Some of my hobbies: are drawing flowers on everything, surprising people, and getting lost.

I come to camp because: It’s one my favorite places in the world, giving me the chance to serve God though the lives of children

Favorite thing about camp: Being in a Christian Community where I can be myself and I can grow in my faith.

I come to camp because: I love the feeling I get when I arrive at camp and spend the summer. One of comfort and safety to be who I am as a Christian.

In the non-summer months I: Attend Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, where I am studying Respiratory Therapy and hopefully getting my doctorate in Physical Therapy. I also play Field Hockey for my school in the fall.

Hobbies: I enjoy playing Field Hockey during games and practices, and also in my free time at the gym. I also like to hangout with my friends and have movie nights after a long week of classes.
